Welcome to the uOttawa Faculty of Engineering! As a new engineering student,  we invite you to attend our virtual welcome activities on September 2, and a combination of virtual and in-person activities on September 7.

Virtual Welcome Fair for Engineering Students (Sept. 2 to 7)

We are thrilled to welcome you through this Virtual Fair for Engineering Students!

On this platform, you will begin your journey to making meaningful connections with your peers, student mentors, clubs and associations and professors. You will learn about and access all the resources that are available to you and that will help you succeed in your university career.

Step 1: Create your account on the Easy Virtual Fair platform as of 4 p.m. (EDT) on Wednesday, September 1.

Step 2: Familiarize yourself with the virtual fair (navigation menus, halls, activities schedules).

Step 3: As of 9 a.m. (EDT) on Thursday, September 2, you can freely explore the Virtual Fair for Engineering Students to:

  • Chat with program directors, academic support staff and mentors
  • Get the schedule for all the live virtual activities taking place throughout our Welcome Days
  • Watch informational videos and pre-recorded information sessions
  • Discover your student clubs, associations, and competitive teams
  • And more!

You will be able to consult the booths’ content until the end of the day on September 7, but the live chat only takes place on the September 2.

Please note that the Easy Virtual Fair platform is not optimized for mobile. We recommend using Chrome or Mozilla Firefox Internet browsers on your computer.

September 7 - Hybrid activities (in-person and online)

Notice for in-person events: Registration is mandatory for all in-person events, unless otherwise noted. All participants must complete the uOttawa Self-Assessment on the day of the event, and per the University’s new policy, must have received at least one COVID-19 vaccine. Please note that the space capacity has been reduced to ensure physical distancing, and face mask remain mandatory for the duration of the event. 

Photographs and film footage may be taken during these activities, which may or may not include your recognizable image or a video. By participating in these activities, you consent to being photographed or filmed and authorize the University to use the photographs or film in print, digital, video or web-based format for its promotional and archival purposes.

Registration: No registration, drop in on a first-come, first-served basis. 

Electrical and Computer Engineering Lab Tours

Format: In-person
Meet time: 8:50 a.m. and 12:50 p.m.
Departure time: 9 a.m. and 1 p.m.
Duration: 1 hour
Departure location: Outside of the Colonel By hall (on terrace). In case of rain, meet inside the STEM Complex, in room 117. 
Capacity: 15 per tour

We’re so excited to welcome you to the Faculty of Engineering at uOttawa. To celebrate the start of your university adventure with us, we want to offer you swag to show off your faculty pride!

To enter this giveaway, all you have to do is:

  1. Attend at least one of the Welcome Days activities
  2. Follow the Faculty of Engineering on social media (Instagram, Facebook, and/or Twitter)
  3. Like one of the contest posts 

The winners will be randomly selected on September 8, 2021. The selected entrants will be contacted through their uOttawa email within ten (10) days of the selection.
