Professor Eric Lanteigne received his Bachelor's (2003) and Master's (2006) degrees in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Ottawa, and his PhD (2011) from the Royal Military College of Canada. He then joined the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Ottawa in August 2011.

His fields of interests are mechanisms design, path planning, UAVs, and mobile robots. Professor Lanteigne has worked on a number of design projects including the development of a miniature manipulator module with shape memory alloy actuators, track-mounted mobile robots for the agricultural industry, mechanisms for extracting pooled water and bitumen deposits from pipes for the trench-less rehabilitation of municipal water mains, stair-climbing robots, and UAVs. Professor Lanteigne currently teaches the capstone project course for the fourth year mechanical and biomedical engineering students.
