The Canadian Society for Chemical Engineering offers the Hatch Plant Design Competition for students enrolled in undergraduate chemical engineering programs at Canadian universities annually. Students submit their fourth year capstone design projects based on designing a large scale chemical plant.

This year, four students from the Faculty’s Chemical and Biological Engineering Department took home first prize in the capstone competition for their submission: Production of Diethyl Ether via Ethanol Dehydration.

Congratulations to Samantha Stanzel, Alexander Sorrini, Mack Giles and Divya Sutarwala!
