Jeff Dai, student mentor at the Faculty of Engineering Mentoring Centre, is the recipient of a 2015-2016 CIBC Mentoring Scholarship. The CIBC Mentoring Scholarships recognize the exceptional work of student mentors. The scholarships are awarded to student mentors whose social engagement and academic excellence set them apart. Each award is worth up to $4,500. This year’s awards were presented on January 28 during a special reception organized by the Student Academic Success Service (SASS).
Jeff, a third-year Mechanical Engineering/Computing Technology student, will use his scholarship to pay for tuition and recommends that other mentors apply to the scholarship in future. “I also encourage students to get involved in as many things as possible during their university career as it is beneficial to both their future career and overall university experience,” said Jeff.
Students interested in applying for the CIBC Mentoring Scholarship can consult the Financial Aid and Awards Service for details on the application process and deadlines.
