The University of Ottawa is proud to announce that Abdulmotaleb El Saddik has received the title of Distinguished University Professor. El Saddik, a University Research Chair and professor in our School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, is an internationally-recognized scholar who has made a major contribution to the knowledge and understanding of multimedia computing, communications and applications, particularly in the digitization, communication and security of the sense of touch, or haptics, a new medium that is significantly changing human-to-human and human-computer interaction.
The Distinguished University Professor title is conferred on faculty members in recognition of exceptional scholarly achievement, pre-eminence in a particular field of knowledge and a solid teaching record.
