Enrolment

Student's responsibilities:

When enrolling in a program at the Faculty of Engineering, it is the responsibility of each student to:

  • Become familiar with the specific degree requirements of their program and ensure that their course selection meets their respective course sequence;
  • Ensure that they have completed any prerequisites for the desired courses;
  • Ensure, before the start of the enrolment period, that there are no holds on their account. To view any possible holds, log into your Student Centre in uoZone. If any, they will be shown on the right of your Student Center screen.
  • Ensure that you enrol to both Fall and Winter terms;
  • Ensure that the courses selected do not result in class schedule conflicts;
  • Respect all important academic dates and deadlines published on the University of Ottawa website;
  • Become familiar with the University of Ottawa’s academic regulations. It is understood that, by enrolling to courses, students agree to strictly adhere to these regulations.
  • Become familiar with their enrolment tools. All Student Center applications under the Applications tab in uoZone come with a PDF tutorial. To open a tutorial, click Tutorial (PDF) under the title of the desired application. For more information, please contact enrolment support directly by calling 613-562-5252 or 1-877-562-5250 or by email at mentors@uOttawa.ca.

Course Offering 2021-2022

The lectures [Lecture (LEC) component of a course] offered by the Faculty of Engineering will be taught via distance, as well as the majority of the tutorials (TUT) and discussion groups (DGD). A class schedule will appear in your calendar, but no classrooms will be listed for your lectures.

Teaching / learning in the laboratories (LAB) offered by the Faculty of Engineering will take place face-to-face on campus and a classroom will be displayed in your class schedule. Once enrolled, the professor will contact you to give you the unfolding of the laboratories and provide related instructions.

Important: Please note that if you are not able to come on campus this fall to complete your labs, you will need to contact your professor(s) to let them know and obtain instructions on how to follow the laboratories (LAB) remotely.

Block enrolment for SEG, MCG and MGB programs

New this year! The Undergraduate Studies Office will perform block enrolment for your compulsory 1st year engineering courses. However, you are still required to complete your enrolment for your compulsory 1st year courses in Mathematics, Physics, English (or Français), and Biology according to the requirements of your program of study.

Consult the tabs below, according to your program of study, to find out the courses for which you have been enrolled by the Faculty of Engineering and the courses for which you must complete the enrolment yourself.
