Dr. Rozalina Dimitrova received her B.Sc. degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Civil Engineering and Architecture in Sofia, Bulgaria and her first Master's Degree in Hydrotechnical Engineering from the same University. Her second Master's Degree in Environmental Engineering was awarded from Lakehead University (Ontario) and her Ph.D. in Geotechnical Engineering from the Western University (Ontario). Her Ph.D. dissertation was in the area of soil mechanics and geotechnical engineering with specific focus on behaviour of saturated mine tailings and mine tailings/clay systems under variety of drainage conditions and stress ranges.
Prior to joining the Department of Civil Engineering, University of Ottawa in 2015, she spent a number of years working in geotechnical engineering field and received a P.Eng. designation in Ontario. Dr. Dimitrova attended and presented her research work at numerous symposiums and conferences and is also functioning as a reviewer for a number of journals in the area of soil mechanics and geotechnical engineering. She has taught courses at both Western University and Lakehead University.
