EngSci Camp

Grade completed : JK to 6

Our EngSci camp is designed for youth who have just completed junior kindergarten to students who completed grade 6.  This camp will give them the opportunity to discover and learn through chemistry experiments, dissections, physics challenges, 3D printing, electrical circuits, robotics & much more!  Participants will gain access to our various university labs such as: the uOttawa Richard L'Abbé Makerspace, the electrical engineering lab, and the chemistry lab. Campers will get the opportunity to build and create a wide array of projects such as custom-designed 3D models, mechanical machines, and circuits.

Projects are specifically designed for the various age groups and are different every year.  EngSci camp projects change week-by-week and are not cumulative, so a participant may register for only EngSci 2 without requiring EngSci 1.  Additionally, a participant may register for all four weeks without repeating any projects.

Throughout the week, the participant will get the chance to play indoor and outdoor games.

Lunch is not included, except on Friday when a pizza lunch & juice box is offered (this is included in the price of the camp).  Please provide environmentally-friendly, nut-free snacks and lunch for your child for the rest of the week.

Please note: During select weeks, younger participants will be completing a variety of hands-on activities at the nearby Francojeunesse Elementary School which will be outfitted with uOttawa 3D printers, iPad minis, microscopes, dissection tools, and chemistry equipment.  This school provides a more appropriate environment for our youngest campers, with smaller furniture and toilet facilities.  At Francojeunesse the children will also have the opportunity to use the play structures outside and certain select weeks they will play in the wading pool at the Sandy Hill Community Centre.
