The Adventures clubs are an exceptional way of extending the program’s summer camp fun during the year.

Winter Clubs 2018

Targeting participants in grade 3-6, these bilingual educational initiatives provide a positive atmosphere to promote science and engineering. The clubs run for 2.5 hours and participants engage in fun, hands-on activities.

EngSci Club and GirlSci Club

These allow for a nice mix of engineering and science through innovative build projects, chemistry experiments, 3D printing, and much more! Please note that EngSci and GirlSci repeat the same curriculum, but that GirlSci is only offered to female participants whereas EngSci is offered to both boys and girls.

EngTech Club and MakerGirls Club

These will give the participants the opportunity to work on a variety of computer based projects like animation, programming, game creation, 3D modeling, and more. Please note that the EngTech and MakerGirls repeat the same curriculum, but that MakerGirls is only offered to female participants whereas EngTech is offered to both boys and girls.

Language: All clubs are offered in a bilingual setting

Grade: For kids in grade 3 to grade 6

Dates: Every Saturday from January 20 to March 24 inclusively 

Hours:

  • GirlSci Club 9:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. (5 spots available)
  • EngTech Club 9:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. (8 spots available)
  • EngSci Club 1:00 p.m. - 3:30 p.m. (7 spots available)
  • MakerGirls Club 1:00 p.m. - 3:30 p.m. (8 spots available)

** Please note that the curriculum repeats for the EngSci club and the GirlSci club and EngTech club and MakerGirls Club share the same curriculum.

Lunch & Snacks: Please provide a nut-free snack for your child to have during his/her club.

If you have registered your child for a morning club and for an afternoon club, please provide him/her with a nut-free lunch.

Location: The drop-off and pick-up take place inside the main entrance of the SITE building at 800 King Edward Avenue.

Cost: $135 (for all ten sessions) payable by credit card online

Robotics Club at your school

Afterschool program for students in grade 4-6, focused mainly on Robotics. This program is offered once a week, starting right after school and running for 1.5 hours each week, for 10 weeks. The afterschool program would touch different technologies, such as Ozobots, Makey Makey, Lego NXT, 3D printing and much more.


Robotics Club at Manor Park Public School

Grade: For kids in grade 4 to grade 6
Dates: Every Thursday from January 18 to April 5 (with the exception of Thursday February 22 and March 15) 
Hours: 3:00 to 4:30 p.m.
Location: Manor Park Public School
Cost: $100 per student (for all ten sessions) payable by credit card online

Robotics Club at Kanata Montessori School

Grade: For kids in grade 3 to grade 6
Dates: Every Tuesday from January 16 to March 5
Hours: 3:30 to 5:00 p.m.

If you are a teacher and you are interested in running this program at your school please contact adventures@uOttawa.ca. A resource teacher at the school and a classroom are necessary for us to be able to run the afterschool program.
