PD Days, Clubs & Events

The Adventures clubs are an exceptional way of extending the program’s summer camp fun during the year. 

PD Day Camps for 2017-2018

Language: French, English or Bilingual (Check dates below for details.)

Grades: For kids in grade 2 to 6

Dates:

  • September 22, 2017 (French program)
  • October 6, 2017 (English program)
  • November 17, 2017 (French program)
  • November 24, 2017 (English program)
  • January 26, 2018 (French program)
  • February 16, 2018 (English program)
  • April 27, 2018 (Bilingual program)
  • June 4, 2018 (French program)
  • June 8, 2018 (English program)


Hours: 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. (FREE before and after care is available from 8 - 9 a.m. and 4 - 5 p.m.)

Lunch: Each child will bring his lunch and snack (no nuts or peanut please).

Location: The drop-off and pick-up takes place inside the main entrance of the SITE building at 800 King Edward Avenue.

Cost: $60/day payable by credit card online.

Fall Clubs 2017

Targeting participants in grade 3-6, these bilingual educational initiatives provide a positive atmosphere to promote science and engineering. The clubs run for 2.5 hours and participants engage in fun, hands-on activities.

EngSci Club & GirlSci Club allow for a nice mix of engineering and science through innovative build projects, chemistry experiments, 3D printing, and much more! Please note that EngSci and GirlSci repeat the same curriculum, but that GirlSci is only open to female participants whereas EngSci is open to both boys and girls.

MiniMed Club & GirlMed Club gives participants the opportunity to discover the fascinating world of medicine! They will explore different aspect of this wonderful profession through diverse projects. Please note that MiniMed and GirlMed repeat the same curriculum, but that GirlMed is only open to female participants whereas MiniMed is open to both boys and girls. 

EngTech Club & MakerGirls Club will give the participants the opportunity to work on a variety of computer based projects like animation, programming, game creation, 3D modeling, and more. Please note that the EngTech and MakerGirls repeat the same curriculum, but that MakerGirls is only open to female participants whereas EngTech is open to both boys and girls. Adventures in Engineering and Science is proud to be participating in Codemakers, a national program powered by Actua and Google. Actua's network members at post-secondary institutions across Canada will empower 100,000 youth with critical computer science skills and prepare them for their future roles as innovators in technology. www.actua.ca/codemakers 

Language: All clubs are offered in a bilingual setting. 

Grades: For kids in grade 3 to grade 6

Dates: Every Saturday from September 16 to November 25 inclusive (with the exception of October 7, due to Thanksgiving)

  • GirlMed Club 9:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
  • MakerGirls Club 9:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
  • GirlSci Club 1:00 p.m. - 3:30 p.m.
  • MiniMed Club 1:00 p.m. - 3:30 p.m.
  • EngTech Club 1:00 p.m. - 3:30 p.m.
  • TeenTech Club 1:00 p.m. - 3:30 p.m.

* Please note that the curriculum repeats for the morning EngSci club and the afternoon GirlSci club; MiniMed club and GirlMed Club share the same curriculum as well; and EngTech club and MakerGirls Club share the same curriculum. 

Lunch & Snacks: Please provide a nut-free snack for your child to have during his/her club. 

If you have registered your child for a morning club and for an afternoon club, please provide him/her with a nut-free lunch. 

Location: The drop-off and pick-up takes place inside the main entrance of the SITE building at 800 King Edward Avenue.

Cost: $135 (for the fall session of ten clubs) payable by credit card online.
