Design Day promises to amaze you with the creativity and ingenuity of our students!
This event is aimed at showcasing engineering design projects and celebrating the achievements of our students. Design projects are prevalent in the Engineering curriculum, and all of our academic engineering programs will be participating in the event.
Third edition of Design Day - March 29, 2018
As part of the mandate of the NSERC Chair in Entrepreneurial Engineering Design (CEED), the Faculty of Engineering will be hosting its third edition of Design Day.
Date: Thursday, March 29, 2018
Time: 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Location: SITE Atrium and Rotonda (1st floor)
Design Day is free and open to the public. Best of all, Design Day brings together industry professionals, families, friends, faculty members and students!
Over 100 projects featuring:
- Environmental robots to reduce pollution
- Transportable houses for indigenous communities
- Hydroponic walls for the Parkdale Food Center
- Pedestrian “dynamic” blockers for the Ottawa Police
- Interactive art for the new uOttawa STEM complex
- and much more!
All students, undergraduate and graduate, in the Faculty of Engineering are invited to participate and showcase their design projects. These design projects can be physical prototypes, design plans, apps or websites. Design projects can come out of a class, research or a personal project from either an individual student or a team.
Prizes will be awarded for first, second and third place.
The Makerspace Challenge winners will also be announced, after unveiling their prototypes for the first time.
